Alison Krauss & Union Station, Billy Strings, and the Alison Brown/Steve Martin/Tim O’Brien collaboration, “5 Days Out, 2 Days Back,” lead the nominations for the 2025 IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards. The ceremony is set to take place on September 18 at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga, Tennessee, marking a significant move from the event’s longtime home of Raleigh, North Carolina. The nominees were revealed during a live event on Wednesday (July 16) at the SiriusXM Studios in Nashville, including categories like Entertainer of the Year, which features Alison Krauss & Union Station, Billy Strings, Appalachian Road Show, East Nash Grass, and the Del McCoury Band. In addition to the nominees, this year’s inductees for the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame were also revealed, with Arnold Shultz, Hot Rize, and the Bluegrass Cardinals all receiving the honor. The IBMA’s Distinguished Achievement Award recipients include Alan Arthur Knoth, Penny Parsons, Ron Thomason, Sidley Austin LLP, and Missy Raines, with more nominations set to be unveiled during the week of July 20.
